A member provides perspective of benefit to LFL with BoardSource A Member's Perspective
"The BoardSource resources have given our board meetings a new direction and have led to more productive meetings."
Resource, The BoardSource Catalog, Fall 2002 - Lungs for Life is a fully supported public organization, with the mission to provide financial assistance grants to cystic fibrosis patients and other non-profit organizations that administer patient support programs. Lungs for Life President, Stephanie J. White, was first introduced to BoardSource via the internet in 2000. Since that time, she has been an active member, enjoying many member benefits. According to Stephanie, "BoardSource provides me with the ability to utilize resources that suit my needs and schedule -whether through workshops, a simple, but concise periodical, or immediate response, via the listserv."
Since becoming a member of BoardSource, Stephanie admits that she "had gained knowledge on new and effective techniques for leading Lungs for Life and its members." She is an active member of the BoardTalk listserv, posting a variety of questions that have addressed a number of board issues before they become problems. Stephanie even designed one of her board development segments on Understanding Nonprofit Financial Statements, from the BoardSource governance series. The interim financial report format and reporting standards presented in the book, "helped each board member understand their fiduciary responsibility to Lungs for Life".

It is with gratitude and appreciation that we accept contributions being made in memory of Marilyn D. Roman (Illinois). Before Marilyn's passing she designated the Lungs for Life Foundation to receive contributions in her memory and in lieu of flowers.
